The competition is being organized annually by our colleagues from the Centers of Environmental Education. This year, we have joined our forces and prepared questions and tasks focused on water in the landscape, wetlands and also on the significant 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Šumava National Park for the pupils of our partner schools.
500 students participated this year!
The test was taken online during distance learning. At the turn of April and May, students were at their computers during online lessons and answered the 20 questions on history and biology.

In the second round, the children became wetland researchers themselves
A total of 40 pupils went to field and tried to accomplish the assigned tasks. They searched for the inhabitants of the wetland biotopes, they tried to determine various plant and tree species. At the end, they recorded everything into their research works. Then, these were sent to the Šumava National Park Administration and our jury evaluated them. As a reward, the children recieved wetland notebooks and pencils, in the second round they got water bottles with the motto of the LIFE for MIRES project “Landscape without wetlands is a landscape without water” and the absolute winners received prizes comprised of didactic materials of the Šumava National Park.
